Vaccination rates against human papillomavirus (HPV) are low overall, but Latino teens are more proactive than their peers in seeking the three-dose shots, according to data from the National Health Interview Survey published in the medical journal Vaccine and reported by Fox News Latino. A significant number of parents are still concerned about the vaccine’s safety, said Abbey Berenson, MD, adding that advocates and specialists need to determine what specific barriers contribute to low vaccination rates.
