Each winter, extremely cold weather is a possibility in many parts of the country. But if you take steps during the fall to get your car ready in advance, you can avoid dangerous winter travel problems. This means, maintain service on your car as suggested by the vehicle’s manufacturer, check your antifreeze level, replace your windshield-wiper fluid with a mix for winter, change worn tires and check the air pressure and keep your gas tank nearly full to stop ice from building up in the tank and fuel lines.
